Incorporating plants into your interior design can bring a touch of nature and freshness to your space. Plants not only add beauty and visual interest, but they also have numerous health benefits. They purify the air, increase humidity, and reduce stress levels. At Soulful Spaces by Juliana, we believe in the power of nature to enhance well-being, which is why we love incorporating plants into our designs. Whether it's a small succulent on a shelf or a large statement plant in a corner, plants can transform any room into a vibrant and inviting space. So why not bring a little bit of the outdoors inside and create a harmonious and rejuvenating environment in your home or office?
During covid quarantine I had a Feng Shui consultant over. One of the first things she said was to buy plants. My track record with keeping plants alive hadn't been so good in the past, but I was determined to raise the vibration. So I went to my local plant store, with my stylish containers and showed her my light source. I'm happy to say that after four years now, the plants are looking pretty good. Its possible to keep plants alive, with a little weekly watering and care. Go for the real stuff! Trust yourself.
Here are some examples, thoughts, and tips on how to incorporate plants into your design: 1. Create a focal point: Choose a large, statement plant and place it in a prominent spot in the room. This will draw the eye and become a focal point of the space. Consider plants like fiddle leaf figs or monstera deliciosa, which have large, lush leaves that make a bold statement. 2. Mix and match: Don't be afraid to mix different types of plants together. Combining plants with different textures, heights, and colors can create a visually interesting and dynamic display. Consider using a combination of tall, leafy plants with trailing vines or small, compact plants for variety. 3. Use planters as decor: Choose planters that complement your overall design aesthetic. Whether it's a sleek and modern planter for a contemporary space or a rustic, terracotta pot for a bohemian vibe, the planter itself can add to the overall look and feel of the room. 4. Consider the lighting: Different plants have different lighting requirements. Before incorporating plants into your design, assess the lighting conditions in the room. Some plants thrive in bright, indirect light, while others prefer low light conditions. Choose plants that will thrive in the available light and place them accordingly. 5. Don't forget about maintenance: While plants can bring life and beauty to your space, they do require some care. Make sure to research the specific care instructions for each plant you choose and ensure that you can provide the necessary maintenance. If you're not confident in your green thumb, opt for low-maintenance plants like snake plants or pothos, which are known for their resilience. Incorporating plants into your interior design is a wonderful way to bring nature indoors and create a harmonious and rejuvenating environment. Whether you choose to go big with a statement plant or keep it simple with a few small succulents, the addition of plants will undoubtedly enhance the overall look and feel of your space. So go ahead, embrace the power of nature and transform your home or office into a soulful and inviting sanctuary.
